Email support

For a problem, it helps to include your iPhone model, its iOS version, and the app version (in the app: Settings › About › Version), plus what you tapped and what you expected. Please don't send your records unless asked; the developer never needs them to help, and they stay private on your iPhone.

Recording rounds

How do I get started?

The first launch walks you through adding a site, your name and initials as the operator, and a round. You can start from the Daily Well Check (Free Chlorine, Source Meter, Water Pressure, Pump Hours and notes) and change it later.

Add more in Settings › Setup: Sites, Operators, Round Templates and Sample Locations.

I forgot to log a round. Can I enter it later?

Yes. On Home, tap Record Past Round and pick the date and time the readings were taken. The record shows both when the readings were observed and when they were entered.

A reading says "Outside configured range." What does that mean?

The value is outside the minimum or maximum you set for that reading. Check it for a typo; if it's right, submit anyway. The reading is flagged, never blocked, and the app doesn't judge whether any value meets a regulation; the only ranges are the ones you set.

Change a reading's range in Settings › Round Templates.

How do I fix a mistake in a submitted round?

Open the round in History and tap Correct This Round. Change the value and, if you like, add a reason such as "transposed digits." The original value, the new value and the time of the change are kept in the round's Edit History, so the record stays complete.

My meter was replaced (or rolled over) and now reads lower.

When a meter reading is lower than the previous one, the app asks you to correct it, mark a meter reset or rollover, or add a note. Marking a reset or rollover starts a new baseline, and that interval is left out of usage rather than guessed.

Reports and exports

How do I make a report for the inspector or the owner?

Open the Reports tab, choose the site, the date range and the round (or all rounds), pick a format and tap Create Report. Then share it to Files, Mail, AirDrop or a printer.

  • PDF: a formatted report with a header and page numbers on every page.
  • Detailed CSV: one row per reading, for spreadsheets.
  • Round Summary CSV: one row per round, like a traditional operator spreadsheet. Choose a single round for this format.

Reports are records of what you entered; they aren't official state forms.

Reminders

I'm not getting reminders.
  1. In the app, open Settings › Notifications and turn on the rounds you want reminders for.
  2. In the iPhone Settings app, open Notifications › Water Logbook (the app's name on your Home Screen) and make sure notifications are allowed.
  3. Check each round's due time in Settings › Round Templates. Reminders arrive at the due time and are skipped when the round is already recorded.
  4. Focus modes can silence notifications; allow the app in your Focus settings if needed.

Backup and moving to a new iPhone

How do I back up my records?

Your records are stored only on your iPhone, so save a backup regularly: Settings › Backup & Restore › Create Backup, then choose where to save it, for example iCloud Drive in Files. The app reminds you on Home when a backup is due.

How do I move my records to a new iPhone?
  1. On the old iPhone, create a backup and save it somewhere the new iPhone can reach, such as iCloud Drive (or AirDrop the file).
  2. On the new iPhone, install Water System Logbook. On the first setup screen, tap Restore from a Backup… (or, if the app is already set up, open Settings › Backup & Restore › Restore from Backup…).
  3. Choose the backup file and review what it contains before restoring. A safety copy of the records already on the new iPhone is saved first.

A restored backup of your own data works with or without a subscription. If you subscribe, tap Restore Purchases on the new iPhone too (see below).

Subscription and purchases

What's free, and what does Premium add?

Your first 7 submitted rounds are free, with every feature. After that, Premium (monthly or annual, auto-renewing) is needed to submit more rounds. Everything you've recorded stays available either way: you can always view, correct, export and back up your records.

I subscribed, but the app doesn't show Premium.

Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you subscribed with, then tap Settings › Premium › Restore Purchases. This also applies on a new iPhone or after reinstalling.

How do I cancel or change my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. In the app, open Settings › Subscription › Manage Subscription, or in the iPhone Settings app tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next renewal.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not the developer. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

Where are my records stored? Does the developer see them?

Only on your iPhone. There's no account, no server and no cloud sync, and the developer never receives your records. They leave your iPhone only when you share a report or save a backup. See the Privacy Policy.

Does it work without a signal?

Yes. Recording, history, trends, reports and backups all work offline. Subscribing and restoring purchases need a connection, as does sending a report by Mail or to iCloud Drive.

How do I delete my data?

Delete a single round from its detail screen in History (the deletion is noted in the audit trail). To remove everything, delete the app from your iPhone; that deletes its records. Backup files you saved elsewhere stay where you put them until you delete them.
